What is SHKYR?
SHKYR is a personalized environmental decision system designed to help outdoor athletes know when environmental conditions are less favorable than usual for them.
Instead of sending generic alerts to everyone, SHKYR focuses on sending useful alerts only when they matter.
Who is SHKYR for?
The current beta is designed for people who regularly spend time outdoors, including:
- Runners
- Cyclists
- Walkers
- Hikers
- Trail runners
- Outdoor fitness enthusiasts
Future versions will expand to other outdoor users.
Is SHKYR a weather app?
No.
Weather is only one part of outdoor conditions.
SHKYR combines environmental information to help you make better outdoor decisions.
Is SHKYR a medical app?
No.
SHKYR does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
It simply helps you make informed outdoor decisions.
Is the beta free?
Yes.
Participation in the SHKYR beta is completely free.
How long does it take to join?
Less than two minutes.
Do I need to download an app?
No.
Everything happens directly through WhatsApp.
Why are you using WhatsApp?
Because everyone already knows how to use it.
No installation.
No account creation.
No password.
Can I leave the beta whenever I want?
Absolutely.
You can stop participating at any time.
How many alerts will I receive?
Only when environmental conditions become relevant for you.
We intentionally avoid sending unnecessary notifications.
What do I have to do when I receive an alert?
Simply reply:
YES or NO.
That’s enough to help improve SHKYR.
Will SHKYR send alerts every day?
No.
Some days you may receive no alerts at all.
That’s part of the SHKYR philosophy.
No unnecessary interruptions.
Why didn’t I receive any alert today?
Because conditions may not have required one.
Sometimes the best decision is not to send an alert.
What information do you collect?
Only the information necessary to run the beta, such as:
- your name
- your email
- your WhatsApp number
- your city
- your outdoor activity
- your feedback
Do you sell my data?
No. Never.
Your data is only used to improve SHKYR.
Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes.
Simply contact us and we’ll remove your information.
Will SHKYR become a mobile app?
Possibly.
Today we’re validating the experience through WhatsApp.
This allows us to improve SHKYR faster with real users.
Will SHKYR be available outside Brussels?
Yes.
We are starting in Brussels to build and validate the product with our first beta community.
Will SHKYR always be free?
The beta program is free.
Future versions may include premium features, but nothing changes for current beta testers during the testing phase.
